Fun With Food

Here are some playful recipes to try.  All are great to try when you are hosting a party or event.

Cream cheese & Olive Penguins-Danielle has made these several times & they are always a huge hit.  She made these for our family Christmas this year & everyone loved them.  It's a fun project to do on your own or with the kids.

Chocolate Mice-Danielle also made these for the Christmas party and they too were a huge hit.  She put them on a slice of cheese.

Birthday Cake-Here's a fun idea for a birthday cake.  You can do many variations of it.  Be creative!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough cupcake-I made these for Adam's birthday because he loves anything with cookie dough in it.  These were a huge hit & are perfect with a large glass of milk!

Mini Tacos

Hello there!  Just stopping by to share a recipe from Pinterest that I made the other night for dinner. It was super easy and super tasty!! Click here for the picture that's been circulating but there is no recipe attached. To be honest...it's pretty self explanatory but I took pictures anyways so this post would be more exciting!

Ingredients -- Tostitos Scoops, shredded cheese, taco seasoning, ground hamburger

1) Brown your hamburger.

2) Lay your Scoops on a cookie sheet.

3) After your meat is cooked & seasoned, spoon into the Scoops.

4) Add cheese (we are CHEESE FREAKS in this house so the more, the better!)

5) Put in the oven just long enough to melt the cheese. I turned it on to 350 degrees.

6) Eat & ENJOY!

Wasn't that exciting...I know all of you were on the edge of your seats!!

OVERALL RATING: PIN WIN!!!

It tasted great & was so quick to make which is perfect for nights when you don't have a lot of time to cook a 5 course meal (yeah, that never happens in our house).  My only suggestion would be to make 2 batches.  As you can see, I only made 1 batch and it wasn't quite enough...it went quickly!!  Also, you really don't need to buy very much meat. I bought 1 pound and it was waaaay too much!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Wreaths, Bath Fizzes & lots of laughs

We had our monthly Pinterest party last night.  We had some drinks, made a big mess, and had a lot of fun.  On the agenda was wreaths and bath fizzes.  Some of our bath fizzes didn't come out of the molds.  We recommend that you use a rubber mold as those seem to come out easier and make sure you tightly pack the mixture in the molds.  Also, make sure that the mold you are using is completely dry otherwise the mixture will start to fizz when you put it in the mold.  All the wreaths turned out great.  There were a few burns from the glue guns, but everyone survived.

Changing the world one pin at a time.

Let the bath fizzes sit for at least 2 hours

Overall Rating:  The jury is still out on this one.

Danielle did a succulent wreath.  It turned out great.  She recommends just pushing the succulents through the wreath rather than gluing them on there.

Mollie made two wreaths.  She plans on hanging this wreath on her front door.  She added her own personal touch by putting her name on the wreath instead of her house number.

Mollie also made a Burlap wreath.  She ran out of ribbon so it's not quite finished, but it looks great so far.

Ashlei did her take on a Butterfly wreath.  She went the cheap route and bought a small wreath at the dollar store. She used wire to make a bigger outside circle and hot glued wire to attach the two rings together to make up the wreath. She wrapped the whole thing in tin foil to give it a shiny look and something to glue the moss to. She also used dried flowers and made her own butterfly out of tin foil, tissue paper and wire.

I made a Burlap wreath.  I used the gingham ribbon to hang it from my door, which added a nice touch.  I also made one without the house numbers for my mother-in-law.
