Hello!! So...if you haven't seen the previous blog post from Lindsay about her awesome desk, go read it...like NOW! A while ago, she showed me the desk on Pinterest that she got her inspiration from and since Lindsay and I are A LOT a like, I fell in love with it too!! So, I put my hubby to work to build one for me. We did it a little bit different than Lindsay's as our basement is under construction (meaning no walls up!) so we couldn't attach it to the wall like she did. I was having a hard time deciding what to do for the legs and finally I came up with the idea to do old school wood sawhorses. Now, let me tell you, they really don't make them like they used to and the ones we found just weren't durable enough to hold up 6 pieces of heavy wood. So...right when I was about to give up, my hubby found STEEL ones at Menard's. They were right next to the wood ones, I just didn't see them because I was too busy being sad and discouraged. I thought these had a cool look to them so I threw them over my shoulder and headed to checkout. (Ok, not so much, but I did squeal with delight and helped throw them on my hubby's shoulder!) So...without further adue, here is my desk!
Now, the wood we got was pre-treated and still wet, so I can't stain it for awhile as the stain won't hold. But once it's ready to go, I plan on doing a gray barnwood stain. Pics and post to come later!!
I can't wait to find a bunch of cute things to put on my desk. Guess I'll head back to Pinterest and start looking for some more fun things to create. I also can't wait til I have WALLS so I can paint it a super bright yellow and cover the walls with some more Pinterest inspired things!!
